Where HetrixTools is better
- Blacklist monitoring. They watch your IPs and domains across dozens of blacklists. If you run mail servers, that alone is worth the account and we do not do it at all.
- Server resource monitoring. An agent reporting CPU, RAM and disk from your own boxes. We check endpoints from the outside.
- Free tier size. Their free allowance is larger than ours.
- Multiple check locations. More regions than our single one.
Where we are better
- WhatsApp and chat alerts. Native WhatsApp, Slack, Teams and Discord rather than email and webhooks you wire up yourself.
- Reports for whoever is paying you. HetrixTools reports to you, the operator. If you look after sites for clients, the artifact you need is one you can forward.
- Cron heartbeats. Scheduled jobs that stop running, caught on every plan.
- Visitor analytics beside uptime. The outage drawn underneath the traffic it cost you — a question neither tool answers alone.
- An interface aimed at non-engineers. HetrixTools assumes you are comfortable with servers. If you are handing a status page to a client, that matters.
The honest summary
If you run your own servers and care about blacklists and resource graphs, HetrixTools does things we do not and you should use it. If your job is keeping other people's websites up and telling them you did, that is a different tool — and this is that one.
