WhatsApp delivery is rolling out

WhatsApp Business approval is in progress. Today every alert is delivered by email, which is fully live — monitoring, SSL and domain expiry, cron heartbeats and escalation all work now. WhatsApp switches on for existing accounts automatically when approval completes, at no extra cost. We would rather say this here than have you find out after paying.

About the WhatsApp limits

Meta charges per delivered message, so "unlimited" would be a promise we could not keep. The caps sit far above realistic use — a monitor only messages you when something breaks. If you reach one, email keeps flowing and we will tell you, rather than going quiet.

Questions

What happens when I hit the WhatsApp limit?

Email alerts keep going out. You are never left uninformed because of a billing ceiling — the WhatsApp cap exists because Meta charges per delivered message, and email costs us almost nothing.

Do I need a card for the free plan?

No. The free plan has no card and no expiry. It is 25 monitors at 5-minute checks, and it stays that way.

Why is the free tier so generous?

Checks cost us a fraction of a cent; WhatsApp messages cost real money. Putting the paywall on monitor count would mean charging for the cheap thing. The paywall belongs on the thing with a bill attached.

Can I cancel whenever I want?

Yes, from the billing portal, and you keep the paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for. There is no cancellation flow designed to make you give up.

Who handles payment?

Polar, as merchant of record. They handle VAT and sales tax, and your card details never touch our servers.

What counts as a monitor?

One URL checked on a schedule. Cron heartbeats are counted separately, so watching a website and watching its nightly backup do not compete for the same allowance.

Know before your client does

Add your first monitor in under a minute. The first check runs immediately, so you see it working before you decide anything.
